The checkout and administration stations are used throughout the Create Your Own Candy Bar experience.
The administration station comes in pretty handy for checking on the status of a visitor as they progress through the attraction, and as their bar progresses through assembly. Their ticket can be scanned using a hand barcode scanner. Current progress through the attraction is displayed for Hershey attendants, and several administration options are available.
This station has come in extremely handy as it allows the staff to re-start bars on the assembly line, re-print custom wrappers, re-design wrappers, or completely reset a visitors ticket without having to re-issue a ticket. The feature of being able to view a visitor’s wrapper designed using the wrapper design kiosks has come in handy a few times as well.
The checkout was developed on-site and is used simply to quickly write “Delivered” to a field in the database and also provide a mechanism to remove this status. It interfaces with a hand barcode scanner for quick checkout with minimal attendant interaction. As final products are handed to visitors, their tickets are scanned as final confirmation that they received their commemorative tin, custom bar, and custom wrapper.
