There are seven kiosks that contain extended information about many of the major battles of the pacific. Some of the kiosks contain two battles. The included battles are:
China Burma India
Okinawa
Guadalcanal
Iwo Jima
Bataan Corregidor
New Guinea & Solomons
Tarawa
Rainbow 5
Philippines
Each kiosk contains information about the battle background, timeline, Medal of Honor, Commanders + Forces, Maps, and Media. The scripts for all of the battles combined were around 800 pages. It was a great effort by our production staff to be able to get all of this ready.
The data for these battles is in simple html templates that are parsed by a custom html parser created for Flash. We have a master server in the machine room rack that synchronizes itself each day with the rest of the kiosks. This means that in order to make changes to any of the battles, you only have to make one change on the server.
